F1 Rocks will make its first visit to the season opening Australian Grand Prix in March, an event which will be headlined by American rock legend, Lenny Kravitz.

The concert will be Kravitz's first in Australia for 18 years and will take place on March 17th and 18th, after qualifying and the race at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Having sold over 35 million albums worldwide, the songwriter is best known for debut album Let Love Rule, and such hits as Are You Gonna Go My Way, Fly Away and It Ain’t Over Till It’s Over.

Robert Montague, CEO of F1 Rocks, believes 2012 will be F1 Rocks best season yet.

"2012 is going to the biggest year yet for F1 Rocks and F1 Rocks The Afterparty and what better way to start than by joining Formula 1 at the season-opening race," he said.

"F1 Rocks in Melbourne will be the first of at least eight events for 2012. We look forward to delivering great entertainment to fans in Australia on what is sure to be a great weekend of Formula 1 entertainment."

Support acts will include at Irish band, The Cranberries, and Australia’s homegrown rock quartet, Wolfmother.
