Newey and Mansell honoured by Queen

Adrian Newey and Nigel Mansell have both been honoured by the Queen in the New Years honour list, published on Saturday.

Newey, currently chief technical officer at Red Bull, becomes an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions to motorsport.

The 53-year-old designer has been the brains behind several championship winning cars in both Formula 1 and CART at March, Williams, McLaren and Red Bull Racing.

1992 F1 champion and 1993 CART champion Mansell, becomes a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) having already been awarded an OBE, for his services to Children and Young People.
