Vettel eases to his sixth victory of 2011

Sunday 26th June 2011, 14:52

Sebastian Vettel drove to an easy victory in Valencia for the European Grand Prix, his sixth of the season and 16th of his career.

The German led from start to finish in a fairly mundane manner as he controlled his pace at the front, unchallenged for the majority.

Fernando Alonso equalled his best finish of the year to take second and a healthy 18 points. He was closely followed by Mark Webber, Lewis Hamilton and his teammate, Felipe Massa.

The race was a record breaker with all 24 cars finishing, the most ever, beating China earlier this year which had equalled Brazil 2010's 23 finishers.
