Petronas have confirmed that they have extended their right to be the title sponsor for the Malaysian grand-prix.

The oil and gas company, who are also title sponsors to the Mercedes GP team, have long been a big sponsor within the sport and are set to remain so for at least the next five years.

F1 supremo, Bernie Ecclestone, is excited that the company have pledged their support once again and told the media, "I am pleased that Petronas have, once again, used Formula One to let the world follow their success."

The Malaysian GP will celebrate it's 12th race next year after appearing on the F1 calendar for the first time back in 1999.
