United States GP track layout revealed

Wednesday 01st September 2010, 14:32

The organisers and design team behind the United States GP in Austin, Texas, have unveiled their proposed track layout for the first time.

The 5.4km circuit will feature a long back straight capable of speeds up to 320km/h, as well as a twisty, fast section.

"It should be nice. I think drivers and fans should really like it," race promotor Tavo Hellmund said of the track.

"It will be similar to one gigantic turn," Hellmund said of the final sector which features a large sweeping turn similar to Turkey's Istanbul.

The track will feature several elevation changes, the steepest of which is an uphill run into turn one.
